Canberra; Wild weather fells trees, causes blackouts
Emergency services in Canberra were kept busy on Wednesday after wild weather downed multiple trees and caused traffic woes on several roads from Tuesday evening. Fierce wind gusts brought trees crashing down across the city with the ACT State Emergency Service responding to more than 300 calls for help as of Wednesday afternoon.

CHANGED traffic conditions will be in place for around one year at Dirty Creek as part of the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Hwy upgrade. The intersection of the Pacific Highway and Range Road will be temporarily closed with a temporary intersection opened at the northern end of the local access road.

Australia has recently expanded its open speed-limit zone this week, and the Northern Territory government is promising voters a supplementary elongation if they get re-elected.
